The EDC is also currently working on the Public Waterfront Recreation Park. The property will be developed into a waterfront outdoor recreation park for the best public access to the rich history and beauty of the St. Mary's River which connects Lake Huron to Lake Superior for outdoor recreation activities including:
- Fish off a boardwalk
- Kayak and canoe launching
- View big Lake Freighters up close
- Scuba dive the nearby shipwrecks
- View from onshore the historic offshore DeTour Reef Lighthouse
- Enjoy the historic ambience of the area

Property Description: The property is ideally situated just south of the Drummond Island Ferry Docks and lays two short blocks from the Village center. The property to be acquired is approximately two acres in size with 800 feet of water frontage on the DeTour Passage at the entrance to the historic St Mary's River that connects Lake Huron and Lake Superior.

New member of the EDC Board is Mark Fair, appointed at the October 2008 meeting.

Kevin Barrette, Al Fountain and Bill Schultz were appointed for one year terms for administrative positions on the EDC Board at the May 3, 2010 regular meeting.

Bruce Glupker was appointed to a one year term to serve on the EDC committee at the May 3, 2010 regular meeting.
